## Pricing questions

The details that usually come up before signing.

Why is Fractional CAIO a range and not a single price?

The range reflects company size and engagement scope. A 30-person startup running one workstream lands at the bottom of the range. A 200-person company with multiple agents and board-level reporting lands at the top. We quote a specific number after the first strategy call.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. Fractional CAIO engagements are designed as 12-month plans because that's how long it takes to do the work properly, but you're billed monthly and can cancel at any time. The AI Chief of Staff is month-to-month with no minimum.

Can we start smaller and upgrade?

Yes. Many founders start with the AI Chief of Staff, then upgrade to a Fractional CAIO engagement once they want the same approach across their company.

Are there extra costs beyond the retainer?

Two categories: model usage (we pass through token costs at vendor pricing, typically $200–$1,500/month depending on agent volume) and any third-party infrastructure or licenses you choose to adopt. Both are itemized and approved in advance.

Do you offer a 30-day pilot?

Yes. The Fractional CAIO Phase 1 audit and roadmap can be run as a standalone 30-day engagement at a fixed fee.

What's the refund policy?

Month-to-month means you stop paying the next month if you cancel. We don't pro-rate mid-month, and we don't refund prior months. You keep everything we built up to that point.
